Leslie B. Morrison, Sr.
Leslie B. Morrison, age 72, of Ottawa, Ohio, passed away 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Bridge Hospice Care Facility in Findlay Ohio, from complications of dementia. Les was born in Toledo on April 10, 1943 and raised in Leipsic, Ohio.
Most of his working career was in sales of hunting and fishing equipment and law enforcement equipment. This profession led him to jobs in several Ohio cities as well as Evansville, Indiana, Harrisburg, PA, and Columbia, SC.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved the Lord and was a current member of the Ottawa Missionary Church. He had held numerous positions in various churches including board member and youth group leader. He participated in mission trips to Ecuador and the Alabama coast following Hurricane Katrina.
On November 9, 2002, he married Connie Watson in Columbia, SC, and together they retired in Hendersonville, NC. Because of health reasons, they left the Blue Ridge area in 2007 and moved to Ohio to be near family.
He was predeceased by his mother, Violet Williams; stepfather, Charlie Williams; and brother, Bill Fellows. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Morrison of Ottawa; sons, Les Morrison, Jr. of Ottawa, Rick (Dawn) Morrison of Pandora, and Matt Morrison of Cincinnati; daughters, Danielle (Bill) Anderson of Columbia, SC and April (Todd) Tenbarge of Newburgh, Indiana; 9 grandchildren, Nikki (Andy) Dunn, Darren (Megan) Morrison, Derek (Maci) Morrison, Mitchel Morrison, Luke Morrison, Garrick Morrison, Naiya Morrison, Josh Tenbarge, and Jaelyn Tenbarge; and 3 great grandchildren, Nolin, Kaylee, and Ella Dunn. He also leaves behind his special dog, Dino.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2016 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Rev. Marshall Metzger officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday and one hour before the service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers of Northwest Ohio or to Ottawa Missionary Church.
