Linda D. Vance

OAKWOOD – Linda D. Vance, 71, of Oakwood, passed away at 11:33 p.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at her residence.  She was born February 6, 1952, in Portsmouth to the late William and Beulah (Lane) Benard.  On March 8, 1969, she married Boyd W. Vance, who survives in Oakwood.

Linda is also survived by four children:  Victoria (Jerry) Kaufman of Ottawa, Chris Vance of Montpelier, Boyd (Mindy) Vance Jr. of Continental, and Angie Lymon of Ft. Wayne, IN.; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four siblings: Sarah (Bob) Anderson of Montpelier, Bill Benard of Defiance, Mike (Pat) Benard of Defiance, and Charlie (Trish) Benard of Grover Hill.

She is preceded in death by a sister, Norma Jean Benard.

Linda was a member of Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church, Junction.  She loved spending time with her family and grandkids.  Linda enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds.

Funeral services will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood with Pastor Brent Hunter officiating.  A visitation will be held on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
