Linda M. Closson

OTTAWA – Linda M. Closson, 73, of Ottawa died 9:19 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2023, at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  She was born October 20, 1949, in Lima to the late Thomas and Maribel (Brown) Fortman.   On February 3, 1969, she married Ron Closson, who survives in Ottawa.

Also surviving are 5 children:  Carrie (Mike) Johnson of Ottawa, Nathan (Julie) Closson of Cincinnati, Amber (Cory) Buddelmeyer of Ottawa, Justin (Gwen) Closson of Ottawa and Chet (Shannon) Closson of Cincinnati; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters:  Chris Strauer  and Lisa (Bob) Webken, both of Kalida; and a brother: William "Boomer" (Cheryl) Fortman of Kalida.

She is preceded in death by a sister:  Patricia Bupp and 2 brothers-in-law:  Joe Bupp and Steve Strauer.

Linda was a bus driver and a travel agent.  She enjoyed all OGHS Titan sports and traveling.  Her greatest love was her grandchildren and spending time with them.

There will be a celebration of life at the Ottawa American Legion from 3 to 10 p.m. Saturday, October 21st.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2023 at the LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
