Linda K. Fortman
OTTAWA – Linda K. Fortman, 75, of Ottawa, passed away at 12:58 a.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was born April 5, 1949, in Lima to the late Otto and Irene (Moening) Gerdeman. On September 27, 1969, she married Timothy E. Fortman, who preceded her in death on April 17, 2013.
Survivors include a daughter, Katie Fortman of Dayton; a best friend, John Kaufman of Ottawa; and three sisters-in-law: Kate Gerdeman, Diane Gerdeman and Joyce Gerdeman, all of Lima.
She was also preceded in death by five siblings: Urban Gerdeman, Thomas Gerdeman, Joyce Gerdeman, Roger Gerdeman, and Wayne Gerdeman.
Linda retired from Philips, Ottawa. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, VFW, American Legion, Eagles and Moose Lodge. Linda enjoyed shopping, doing her nails and spending time at Lake Erie and Port Clinton. She loved her beloved 5th rat terrier, Maggie.
Funeral Mass will begin 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2024 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the mass on Friday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
