Linda L. Johnston
Miller City - Linda L. Johnston, age 67, passed peacefully on December 25, 2014 at 7:45 p.m. surrounded by family at her home. She was born May 1, 1947 in McComb, OH to Angela (Westrick) Schulte and the late Alton Westrick. On April 24, 1965, she married Larry Johnston.
Linda had a zest for life and lived with a purpose. Her infectious laugh and personality radiated and touched anyone who met her. Her love of family permeated throughout her life as she enjoyed spending time camping, going on vacations, playing cards and watching her grandsons play sports. She was a creative spirit and enjoyed working with flowers, crafts, working in her garden and decorating her home.
She was a member of the New Bavaria VFW Auxiliary, the Altar Rosary Society and the Flower Committee of Sacred Heart Church. She was a freelance florist and worked most her life in floral shops including being part-owner of her own shop Rustic Friends in Continental, Oh.
Linda is survived by her husband, Larry of Miller City, OH; daughter, Lisa (Jack) Fuka of Miller City, OH; son, Leroy (Beth) Johnston of Miller City, OH; grandsons: Brady Johnston, Jared Fuka, Cody Johnston and Drew Johnston; mother: Angela and step-father, Wilfrid Schulte of Ottawa; sister, Shirley (Dennis) Warniment of Ottawa; brother, William (Sandy) Westrick of Ottawa; sister, Patricia (Russell) Chamberlin of Glandorf. Linda was preceded in death by her daughter, Leslie Johnston; brother, Marty Westrick and father, Alton Westrick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria with Fr. Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a VFW Auxiliary service at 4:00 p.m. and a rosary at 7:30 p.m.
