Lois A. George

LEIPSIC – Lois A. George, 91 of Leipsic died at 4:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Putnam Heritage in Ottawa. She was born September 2, 1928 in Hancock County to the late Henry and Blossom (Reynolds) Scheerer. On November 25, 1946 she married Keith George who passed away July 13, 2010.

She is survived by three children, Linda (Roger) Nuveman, Alan (Joyce) George, and Kim (Steve) Ellerbrock all of Leipsic; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; a great-great granson; a brother, Mick (Loretta) Scheerer of Oak Harbor; and six sisters, Betty Long of Bowling Green, Donna Gordon of McComb, Sally McHaffie of Tiffin, Nancy (Jack) Sheidler of Pandora, Dina (Allen) Bowers of Deshler, and Mary Oxley of Naples, FL; and a brother-in-law, Skip Oman of Bowling Green.

She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Norma Oman, Suzie (Butch) Sutton, Dorothea (Ronald) George, and Margaret (William) Bibler; a brother, Frank Funk; and in-laws, Elmer Long, Donald Gordon, Jim McHaffie and Garver Oxley.

Lois was a homemaker and had worked at the former Hancock Elevator. She was a member of Oakdale United Methodist Church. She was a 1946 graduate of McComb High School. Lois enjoyed baking, crocheting, knitting, and cooking. Her signature sugar cookies were the best!

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2019  at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Chris Walter officiating. Burial will follow in West Belmore Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
