Lowell R. Schey

LEIPSIC – At 7:09 a.m. on Sunday morning, March 5, 2017, Lowell R. Schey went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at The Meadows of Leipsic.  He was born July 16, 1927 to the late John P. and Viola (Charles) Schey.  On June 17, 1948, he married Joanne Morris who survives in Leipsic.

Other survivors include three children: Mary Jo (Rob) Jordan of Findlay, Mark (Janice) Schey of Stuart, FL and Jane (Tom) Niese of Leipsic; six grandchildren: Paige (Nathan) Inbody, Elaine Schey, Alissa (Will) Mondina, Lindsey Schey, Daniel (Sheena) Niese and Philip Niese; and three great-grandchildren: Bailey Inbody, Lila Mondina and Emma Mondina.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Leon Schey and Max Schey.

Lowell spent the first six years of his schooling in the Center Township one room schoolhouse

West of Leipsic.  He graduated from Leipsic High School in 1945 with a twelve year perfect attendance record. He was a lifelong farmer and co-owner of Schey Bros. Turkey Farm along with his brother Leon.  Lowell was a member of First Christian Church, Leipsic where he served as a Deacon. He was also a lifetime member of Leipsic Fish and Hunt Club and Leipsic Eagles.  Lowell was an avid fisherman and hunter.  The priorities in his life were faith, family, farming and fishing, in that order.

Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic with Rev. Tim Eding officiating.  Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Leipsic.  Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday as well as one hour prior to the service Thursday all at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or First Christian Church, Leipsic.
