Lucille Caroline Knueven
GLANDORF - Lucille Caroline Knueven, 99, of Glandorf, passed away at 5:10 a.m., Friday, March 27, 2026, at The Meadows of Ottawa. She was born December 4, 1926, in Glandorf to the late Lawrence and Adelia (Karhoff) Schmitz. On October 22, 1949, she married Eugene Knueven, who preceded her in death on January 7, 2011.
Lucille is survived by 7 children: Mark (Teresa) Knueven of Ottawa, Carl (Mary) Knueven of Bowling Green, Gerry (Sandy) Knueven, Joyce Kohli, both of Glandorf, Nancy Junkins of Lima, Mary Kristine Heuerman of Findlay and Frances (John) Niese of Glandorf; 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Thomas Heuerman; and 5 siblings: Norman Schmitz, Charles Schmitz, Lillian Ziegler, Louis Schmitz and Evelyn Brinkman.
Lucille was a homemaker, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and watching golf. Lucille also loved plants and could grow anything with her green thumb. She was member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and its Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Ottawa Eagles Auxiliary and Ottawa VFW Auxiliary.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Matt Keller officiating. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Ottawa. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. A parish rosary will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf or Putnam County Hospice.
