Luella M. Huff

OAKWOOD – Luella M. Huff, 92, of Oakwood, passed away at 10:28 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Country Inn Living Center, Latty.  She was born July 17, 1930, in Ottoville to the late Henry and Sally (Leatherman) Herman.  On February 26, 1949, she married William A. Huff, he preceded her in death on September 27, 2011.

Luella is survived by two daughters: Brenda (Dan) Thomas of Oakwood and Carole (Ray) Keesbury of Defiance; four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law: Reba Herman of Defiance.

She is also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emily Huff; and two brothers, John "Dag" Herman, and Louie Herman.

Luella was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Continental.  She played a major role in getting the Huff & Puff Restaurant started in Oakwood.  She loved to bake and sew.  Luella was a great seamstress and did a lot of mending for the people of Oakwood.  She also babysat many children of Oakwood.  Her family would always gather at her house for Labor Day.

A graveside service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Oakwood with Father John Stites officiating.
