Luke Andrew Stechschulte

KALIDA – Luke Andrew Stechschulte, 59 of Kalida died at 1:59 a.m. Sunday, October 22nd, 2017, with his wife by his side at King's Daughters' House Hospital in Madison, Indiana.  He was born October 5th, 1958 in Lima to the late Harold and Imelda (Rellinger) Stechschulte.  He married his "Lovey", Janice Brinkman on December 10th, 1988 who survives in Kalida.

He is also survived by his two children: Rachael (Audra LaRocca) Stechschulte of Miamisburg and Ben Stechschulte of Bowling Green; brothers and sisters: Steve Stechschulte, Susan (Jim) Burgei, John (Sharon) Stechschulte, and sister-in-law Marty Stechschulte, all of Kalida, Mary (Bob) Lichty, of Payne, and Mathew (Dee) Stechschulte, of Fort Jennings.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Mark Stechschulte and sister-in-law, Gerri Stechschulte.

Luke began his career at Kahle Langhals, and then worked at Cooper Tire, in Findlay, and Chemtrade Logistics, in Cairo.  His present employment was at Guardian Ethanol Plant, in Lima, as a Boiler Operator Engineer.

Luke enjoyed spending time with his children and Lovey, motorcycle trips with friends, and "cheesy" jokes of all sorts.  He also enjoyed traveling, drag racing, and NASCAR,  and until his death, he never turned down a piece of pie, especially if it was peach.

He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida and its Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, Kalida, the Kalida Fish and Game Club, and a proud member of the Iron-Butt Motorcycle Club.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 26, 2017 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township where there will be a K of C Rosary at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
