Mabel Irene Baker
Gilboa -- Mabel Irene Baker, 93, of Gilboa died 3:05 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015, at Bluffton Mennonite Memorial Home. She was born March 29, 1922 to the late Clarence and Emma (Rummel) Hetrick. On December 30, 1945 she married Ralph Baker who died June 30, 1989.
She is survived by a daughter: Dixie (James) Shaffer of Bluffton; two grandsons: C. Douglas Shaffer of Norristown, PA, Curtis (Melina) Shaffer of Arlington, TX; two great-granddaughters: Miah and Margot Shaffer; a brother-in-law: John Bogart of Gahanna; and many nieces and nephews.
Mabel was preceded in death by two sisters: Marie (Herbert) Woodten and Edna Bogart.
She was a member of the Gilboa Methodist Church for 70 years and was part of their Chapel Bells.
A Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Ottawa with Pastor Bill Herr officiating. Burial will follow at Harman Cemetery, Gilboa. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa, as well as one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Mennonite Memorial Home or Gilboa Methodist Church.
