Madeline E. Bear

CONTINENTAL – Madeline E. Bear, 91, of Continental, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Mercy Defiance Hospital. She was born November 29, 1932, in Miller City, to the late Adolph and Frances (Ball) DeSote. She was previously married to Pete Bear and he preceded her in death. Madeline was a member of The Rock Church, Junction, loved playing BINGO and her cat, Lonesome. Madeline is survived by four children: Art (Arline) Bear of Continental, Joseph (Snow) Bear of Defiance, Leslie (Cindy) Bear of Continental and Mary (Don) Miller of Fremont, Indiana; one brother: Robert DeSote of Cairo; 11 Grandchildren: Judith (Ritchie) Couch, Leroy (Tammy) Miller, Shane Miller, Tana (Mike) Maassel, Barbara Bear, Nicole Bear, Christine Bear, Shannon (Lisa) Bear, Shanda (Rollin) Bullinger, Tabitha Riebesehl, Bernadette Bear, and many great grandkids. and great great grandkids.

She was preceded in death by a daughter: Rosemary Moore, five brothers: Virgil, Sylvester, Joe, John, Burnard DeSote, and one sister: Madelene DeSote; 3 grandchildren: Amy Warnimont, Dustin Moore, and April Bear. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental, with Pastor Bobby Branham officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery.
