Malcolm Matthew Burwell

OTTAWA – Malcolm Matthew Burwell was born sleeping on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. Though his time with us was far too brief, Malcolm was cherished every moment of his life. From the moment his family learned of him, he was celebrated, prayed for and loved beyond measure.

He is the beloved son of Matthew and LaShae (Torres) Burwell of Ottawa and cherished little brother of Amelia Torres-Burwell.

Malcolm touched the hearts of countless family members and friends who prayed for him throughout his journey. He is survived by his maternal grandparents, Lee and Lisa Torres of Ottawa; paternal grandparents, Tim and Deb Burwell of Glandorf; great-grandfather, Gilbert Torres; aunts, Shelle (Eric) Pavel of Glandorf and Salena Flores of Ottawa; and uncles, Jeremy Torres and Aiden Torres, both of Ottawa.

Malcolm was welcomed into Heaven by his sister, Eleanor Burwell, and brother, Camden Burwell.

A private burial will be held by the family. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.

Memorial contributions may be made in Malcolm’s memory to the Lima Memorial Foundation – Ryan and Robin Elephant Fund, which provides comfort and support to families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss.
