Marcia A. Lammers
OTTAWA – Marcia A. Lammers, 81, of Ottawa, died 2:25 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2026, at The Meadows of Ottawa. She was born June 8, 1944, in Lima to the late Elmer and Alice (Odenweller) Fortman. On October 7, 1967, she married Roger Lammers and he survives in Ottawa.
Other survivors include two children: James (Joyce) Lammers of Britton, MI, and Kristen (Bill) Hovest of Temperance, MI; five grandchildren: Alex Lammers, Ben Lammers, Elizabeth Hovest, Nick Hovest, and Katherine Hovest; siblings: Barb (Keith) Hall of Dayton and Mary Jo (Dan) Bockrath of Glandorf; and sister-in-law, Nancy Fortman of Crestview Hills, KY.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law: Timothy (Linda) Fortman and Robert Fortman.
Marcia graduated with honors from The Ohio State University in 1966 and was a member of Delta Delta Delta. After graduation, she began teaching English and art at Leipsic High School. In later years, she continued her career teaching English at Ottawa-Glandorf High School. She always enjoyed running into former students and catching up on their lives. She enjoyed playing tennis, even securing a few Putnam County Tennis League doubles championships. She also loved playing bridge and pinochle with her friends. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and reveled in hearing about their adventures and accomplishments.
Funeral mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2026, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., Thursday and one hour prior to the mass Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. A scripture service will begin at 7:50 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Putnam County District Library.
