Marcia Jean (Maag) Kuhlman

OTTAWA - Marcia Jean (Maag) Kuhlman, 81, of Ottawa died at 5:27 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Mercy Health Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center, Ottawa. She was born on July 14, 1940 in Columbus Grove to the late Benjamin and Philomena (Feltman) Maag. On April 15, 1959 she married James Kuhlman, who survives in Ottawa.

Other survivors include 13 children: Mike Kuhlman of Columbus, Becky (Dean) Brickner of Ottawa, Julie (Henry) Kaminski of Columbus, Kris (Brian) Kaufman of Ottawa, Carla (Louie) Niese of Miller City, Steve (Kelly) Kuhlman of Ottawa, Mark (Nhung) Kuhlman of Cincinnati, Joe (Susan) Kuhlman of Ottawa, Jim (Stacy) Kuhlman of Glandorf, Shelly (Jon) Balbaugh, Tracie (Leo) Recker, Jill (Ross) Alt, all of Ottawa and Brian (Kelly) Kuhlman of Cincinnati; 38 grandchildren: Andy, Eric, Nate and Luke Brickner, Kelly Laubenthal, Matthew and Erin Kaufman, Adam Kaminski, Emily, Elena and Eli Niese, Alex, Connor and Drew Kuhlman, Josh, Ellie, Jessica and Caleb Kuhlman, Noah Kuhlman, Mya, Lola and Stella Kuhlman, Zach, Marcy, Alyse and Hannah Balbaugh, Carrie, Megan, Sam, Jacob and Ethan Recker, Spencer, Audrey, Tucker and Evelyn Alt, Avery, Reese and Chase Kuhlman; five great-grandchildren; two brothers:  Denny (Rita) Maag of Kalida and Leroy Maag of Columbus Grove; a brother-in-law, Paul Kuhlman of Ottawa; four sisters-in-law: Betty Birkemeyer of Glandorf, Joan (Phil) Oswald of Pennsylvania, Helen (Tom) Hodson of Wilmington and Mary Jane (Rick) Fellers of Columbus and special caretaker, Lisa Wolfe of Columbus Grove.

She was preceded in death by a stillborn son; a grandson, Benjamin Henry Kaminski; seven brothers: Harold Maag, Omar (Viola) Maag, Danny (Jennie) Maag, James Maag, Carl (Rita) Maag, Urban (Rosie) Maag and Gene (Shirley) Maag; and three sisters: Evelyn (Harold) Wannemacher, Catherine (Harold) Deters and Mildred (Wilbur) Roof; a sister-in-law, Karen Maag and brother-in-law, Norm Birkemeyer.

Marcia was a homemaker and an in-home childcare provider for many years. She was a  member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. She was a faithful follower of God. Her family meant the world to her. She cherished her time spent sitting on her front porch, playing cards, taking trips to Tony's and watching hours of sporting events as her children and grandchildren's #1 fan.

Funeral mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 - 8 Friday, February 25, 2022 and Saturday one hour prior to the mass at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.  A scripture service will begin at 7:50 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
