Margaret M. Schroeder

HOLGATE - Margaret M. Schroeder, 86, of Holgate died at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Kindred Hospital, Lima. She was born May 16, 1929 in Leipsic to the late Fred A. and Emma (Birkemeier) Nadler. On June 14, 1950 she married Donatus F. Schroeder who survives in Holgate.

Also surviving are three children: Linda (Jim) Kell of Lima, Jim (Shirley) Schroeder of Hamler, and Don (Carol) Schroeder of New Bavaria; seven grandchildren; five step grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; thirteen step great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and two sisters: Mary Thompson of Ottawa and Betty (Eldred) Eiden of New Bavaria. She was also preceded in death by a sister: Martha Nadler and a brother-in-law: Roy Thompson.

Margaret was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria and its Rosary Altar Society. She loved quilting, especially hand quilting, crocheting, reading, cooking, canning, and traveling.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria with Fr. Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from  2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. Memorials may be made to the Propagation of Faith or to the wishes of the family.
