Margene M. Butler

Margene M. Butler died November 8, 2017,  She was the wife of  Norman
E. Butler, who died October 29th, 2002.  Survivors include a daughter, Nancy A., and a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis E. and Sidany Butler, a granddaughter, Darianealy, a surviving sister, Susan Emerson, and many nieces and nephews. Margene received Bachelor and Master degrees from Bowling Green State University and a diploma from Mid-Western Schools in Kansas City, Missouri. She has a life membership in Alpha Gamma Delta National Sorority.

After working at Sylvania Electric for three and a half years in the engineering department Margene had a 33-year elementary school teaching career that included in the Kalida, Fostoria, and Pandora-Gilboa school districts before retiring in 1990.  She was listed in Who's Who Among America's Teachers.  She had also worked in the billing department at Avon in Kansas City.

Margene was very active in her church, Trinity United Methodist, where she was a counter, coordinated funeral dinners, helped with Summer Reads, was a prominent member of United Methodist Woman as well as holding the position of Treasurer for many years among other activities.

There will be private graveside services for Margene in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa. Memorials may be made to the ASPCA (American society for prevention of cruelty to animals) or to Alzheimer's Association.
