Marie T. Maas

Ottawa - Marie T. Maas, 85, of Ottawa died 5:50 a.m. Thursday, January 28, 2016 at her residence.  She was born May 17, 1930 in Lima to the late Albert and Sabina (Herman) Wannemacher.  On October 2, 1954, she married Dick Maas who survives in Ottawa.

Marie is also survived by their five children: Michele (Mike) Kaufman of Ottawa, David (Mary) Maas of Pandora, Lisa (Larry) Siefker of Ottawa, James (Karen) Maas of Ottawa and Jeffery (Terri) Maas of Montpelier; 17 grandchildren: Kyle Kaufman, Troy Kaufman, Kelly Kuhbander, Jon Maas, Ben Maas, Brandy Maas, Brad Siefker, Ashley Siefker, Parker Maas, Monica Maas, Robin Maas, Jordan Maas, Alexsie Maas, Aleah Maas, Alivia Maas, Tiffany Thomas, Brittany Geren; 13 great-grandchildren: Elise, Avery, Nolan, Bryce, Lyla, Abby, Emma, Addy, Thomas, Kaydie, Kolbee, Cashe, Kendyl; and three sisters-in-law: Beatrice Meyer of Leipsic, Mary Catherine Siefker and Betty Wannemacher both of Ottawa.   She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Justin, Carl and Roman Wannemacher and a sister, Dolly Schroeder.

Marie was a cook at Ottawa-Glandorf School.  She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ottawa.  She loved spending time with her family and was a wonderful cook.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2016 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa, where a scripture service will be at 7:50 p.m.

Memorials may be given to Sts. Peter and Paul School.
