Marietta Stoepfel
Marietta Stoepfel, 90, of St. Paul, MN, passed away at 11:15 p.m., July 12, 2014, at her Residence. She was born May 5, 1924, in Kalida, to the late Florian and Josephine (Uphaus) Stoepfel.
She is survived by her sisters: Agnes Sager of Glandorf and Cleora (Robert) Winkle of Kalida, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers: John, Joseph, Lawrence and Gregory Stoepfel; sisters: Clara Schmitz, Matilda Tennissen, Laura Schroeder, and two infant siblings.
Marietta retired after 42 years as Vice President of Human Resources and Public Relations at Group Health Insurance Company (now Health Partners). She was an active member of Administrative Management, the St. Paul Association of Insurance Women and WAMSO. She served in the Board of Minnesota Association of Cooperatives after her retirement in 1988. She was a volunteer and active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Christian Women and Highland Leisure Age Group.
A visitation and memorial service was held in St. Paul on Thursday, July 17, 2014. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
