Marilyn E. Hamburg

KALIDA – Marilyn E. Hamburg, 91, of Kalida died 8:28 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  She was born February 26, 1931 in Miller City to the late Louis and Hulda (Edelbrock) Riepenhoff.  On September 6, 1952, she married Paul Utendorf who preceded her in death on October 6, 1962.  She then married Bob Hamburg on August 13, 1976, who survives in Kalida.

She is also survived by 6 children:  Sharon (Randy Jones) Utendorf of Watkins, MN, Cindy (Steve) Thomas of Van Wert, Julie Utendorf of Cincinnati, Keith (Julie) Hamburg, Dan (Nancy) Utendorf and Lori (Joe) Recker, all of Kalida; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, with 2 on the way; a sister:  Agnes McDonald of Defiance and a sister-in-law: Edna Riepenhoff of Glandorf.

She is preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Marilyn was the secretary at Kalida Elementary School from 1967 to 1977.  She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida, and its Altar Rosary Society, and also a member of the Kalida C. L. of C.  Marilyn enjoyed playing pinochle and euchre.  She was a collector of Santa Clause figurines from all over the world and a collector and giver of angel pins.

Marilyn's funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2022 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Father Nathan Bockrath officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and again Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
