Marion F. "Sonny" Dickey
LEIPSIC – Marion F. "Sonny" Dickey, 80, of Leipsic died at 1:40 a.m. Friday, November 02, 2012 at the Meadows of Leipsic.  He was born February 27, 1932 in Leipsic to the late Marion V. Dickey and Ada O. (Bennett) Warner Dickey.  Surviving are 5 children: Roxy L. (Gene) Erickson of Leipsic, James D. Dickey of Leipsic, Michelle Lundy of Orlando, FL, Brett L. Dickey of Belmore and Donald J. Dickey of Belmore; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Mary Catherine Balbaugh of Leipsic, Marilyn Thornburg of Bryan and Bonnie Drew of Leipsic; 1 brother: Warren (Mary) Dickey of Ottawa.  He was preceded in death also by a daughter: Dianna Sue Butler and a son: Bruce "Ed" Dickey; 2 grandchildren; 3 sisters: Dorothy Skinner, Doris Warner and Edna Lou Ellen Shoemaker and a brother: William "Bud" Warner.
Sonny retired as an electrician with GTE Sylvania. He was also a police officer for the Village of Leipsic.  He was a member of New Hope Bethel United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Air Force.  He was a life member of the Continental Amvets and American Legion; a life member of the Leipsic VFW, a member of the Leipsic and Ottawa Eagles, Glandorf Rod and Gun, Leipsic Fishing and Hunting, Miller City Sportsmen's Club; Findlay Moose Lodge, past State commander of the VFW, was past president of the Leipsic Senior Citizens and was the Leipsic Senior Citizen of the Year.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, November 5, 2012 at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic with Rev. Ruth Carter-Crist officiating.  Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Leipsic with military rites by the Leipsic VFW, Ottawa VFW and American Legion and Continental American Legion.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Monday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
