Marjorie A. Schroeder KALIDA – Marjorie A. Schroeder, 85, of Kalida, passed away at 6:19 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at The Meadows of Kalida. She was born July 6, 1939, in Lima to the late Alex and Margaret (Ricker) Fortman. On July 25, 1959, she married her loving husband of 59 years, Donald A. "Mike" Schroeder. He preceded her in death on January 31, 2018. She is survived by two sons: Dave (Rita) Schroeder and Ron (Jackie) Schroeder, both of Kalida; a daughter-in-law, Diane Schroeder of Kalida; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jeff Schroeder; and five siblings: James Fortman, Richard Fortman, Theodore Fortman, Melvin (Mary Ann) Fortman and Ethel Mae Fortman. Marjorie was a homemaker and formerly worked in housekeeping for Calvary Manor Nursing Home, Glandorf. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida, where she sang in the church choir and participated in the Altar Rosary Society and C. L. of C. She enjoyed crafting and making her grandkids matching sweatshirts. She was a fabulous caregiver for her grandkids, aunt and her mother. Marjorie loved golfing, traveling with her husband, Mike, canning salsa and applesauce with family, and was always ready to host guests. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Kalida.  Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. on Sunday and 9 to 10 a.m. on Monday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.  A scripture service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
