Mark Alan Cervantes

LEIPSIC – Mark Alan Cervantes, 41, of Leipsic, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at his home.  He was born on June 14, 1980 to Andy and Kathy (Frey) Cervantes.  His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Leipsic.

He is also survived by two daughters: Lillian Grace Cervantes and Kathryn Garret Cervantes of San Angelo, Texas; a brother, Christopher Jay Cervantes of Newman, Georgia; aunts and uncles: Linda (Tony) De La Rosa of Fostoria, JoAnn (David) Bloom of Leipsic, David Cervantes of Hamler, Cindy (Randy) Bishop of Defiance, Joe (Melaine) Cervantes Jr. of Middletown, Tina M. (Jerry) Jackson of Woodridge, Virginia, Steven (Pat) Cervantes of Glouster and Michael Cervantes of Leipsic, J.W. (Nancy) Frey of Bowling Green, Dennis (Jackie) Frey of Bluffton, Julie Powell of Phoenix, Arizona, Jenny McDaniel and Greg (Chari) Frey both of Pandora; many cousins; and special cousins: Tina Mary Knisley and Brandon Stark, who tried to help him with his battle with depression.

He was also preceded in death by his uncles: Richard (Shirley) Cervantes, Gary (Cathy) Frey, John McDaniel, George Powell and Ron Frey.

Mark graduated from Bellville High School, Bellville, Texas in 1998. He then joined the United States Air Force, where he achieved the rank of Master Sargent before retiring on September 30, 2019.  Mark loved celebrating life with family and friends and would go out of his way to help anyone in need. He enjoyed bowling, computers and everything science or math related. He was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Darrell Davidson officiating. Burial will follow at Harman Cemetery, Gilboa. Visitation will be Monday, March 21, 2022 from 2 – 6 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
