Mark E. Freeland

Mark E Freeland, 56, of Ottawa, OH passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016, from an accidental fall at home. He was born August 25, 1960 in Bastrop, LA. Mark was an industrial master electrician who travelled and worked on many large construction projects throughout the U.S. He loved designing and building electrical systems, whether it be running conduit to terminating wires for power and communications equipment.

Mark enjoyed the travels that his career provided, and was always excited to go on to the next new project. He also enjoyed collecting Zippo lighters, fishing, following NASCAR and taking care of his dog Booboo.

Mark is survived by Karen Weideman, his longtime partner; his children Stacy Stow of Burlington, VT, Crystal McCaffree (Ray) of Bastrop, LA and Anthony Freeland (Shannon) of Calera, AL; grandchildren Destiny and Brandon White, and Harley Smith all of Bastrop, LA, Sutton and Stacey Freeland of Calera, AL; father Donald Nations (Gloria) of Crossett, AR; sisters Shana Ellision  of Jemison, AL, Donna Ainsworth of Beekman, LA, Dana Nations of West Monroe, LA; brother Keith Nations of Crossett, AR; and several nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother Peggy Ann Nations (2002), grandparents Margeurite Sutton (2005), Felix Sutton (1994) and Lester Freeland (1968).

Mark will be interned at Stevenson Cemetery, Beekman, LA with a graveside service at a later date.

A celebration of Mark's life and fellowship with family and friends will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2016, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.
Committal services and interment will be private for the family at Stevenson Cemetery, near Beekman, Louisiana, under the direction of Cox Funeral Home, Bastrop.
