Mark J. Kuhlman

TOLEDO – Mark J. Kuhlman, 81, of Toledo, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Arbors at Sylvania.  He was born March 22, 1942 in Leipsic to the late Urban and Leona (Kohls) Kuhlman. He is survived by his wife, Laura, who he married on July 15, 2000.

Mark is also survived by his three daughters: Pamela (Jamey) Kahle, Jill (Byron) Ellerbrock and Krista (Brad) Schomaeker, all of Ottawa; Laura's two daughters: Carrie (Rick) Meek of Lewis Center and Cori (Hank) Ferrington of Whitehouse; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; two siblings: Jerry Kuhlman and Marilyn Stechschulte, both of Ottawa; and his beloved dog, Bentley.

He is also preceded in death by three siblings: Jane Schroeder, Kenny (Susie) Kuhlman and Dan (Carol) Kuhlman; a sister-in-law, Joan Kuhlman; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Stechschulte.

Mark graduated from Leipsic High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. He had worked at Sylvania, Ottawa and retired from Howards, Leipsic as a rare coin and baseball card dealer and auctioneer. After retirement, he worked at Walmart in the lawn and garden department. Mark was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa and St. Adalbert Catholic Church, Toledo. He was a former member of the Ottawa Eagles, American Legion, VFW and Pike Run Golf Course.  He loved to golf.  Earlier in life, he enjoyed umpiring men's softball games.

Funeral Mass will begin 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 7, 2023 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Rick Friebel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by the Ottawa American Legion, VFW, Amvets and DAV.  Visitation will be held from 2 – 8  p.m., Thursday and 10 – 11 a.m., Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.  A scripture service will be held at 7:50 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
