Marlene E. McClure

OAKWOOD – Marlene E. McClure, 70 of Oakwood died 6:00 a.m., Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Toledo Hospital.  She was born September 29, 1952 in Defiance to the late Vernillus and Naomi (Lehman) Taylor.  On January 24, 1973 she married Charles McClure and he survives in Oakwood.

Other survivors include two children: Chrissa Harwell and Charles Todd (Mary) McClure, both of Oakwood; seven grandchildren; four siblings: Miriam "Mim" Bibler of Continental, Martin (Wanda) Taylor of Oakwood, Mary (Jack) Bertch of Decatur, IN and Marilyn (Verl) Sheets of Mendon; and a brother-in-law, Ned Ray of Decatur, IN.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Ray; and a brother-in-law, Virgil Bibler.

Marlene retired after over 20 years with Rhees Market in Oakwood.  She was a member of Twin Oaks United Methodist Church.  She was a youth leader at Auglaize Chapel Church of God and Twin Oaks United Methodist as well as Sunshine children's choir.  Marlene loved camping, reading, making cookies and visiting lighthouses, especially Marble Head.  Her family was very important and she loved them dearly.

Funeral service will begin 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood with Pastor Richard Larimore and Pastor John Demuth officiating.  Burial will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Oakwood.  Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday as well as one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
