Marshall D. Erickson

OTTAWA - Marshall D. Erickson, 89, of Ottawa, died at 10:07 p.m. Tues day, November 10, 2015 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born April 5, 1926 in Frazee, MN to the late Harry and Ruth (Bjornson) Erickson. On February 18, 1950 he married Eileen Radcliffe who died June 4, 1989. On September 22, 1990 he married Marie Agnes Jerwers Stechschulte and she died February 11, 2013.

He is survived by a stepson: Alvin (Cindy) Stechschulte of Columbus Grove; a stepdaughter: Rose (Richard) Weaver of Findlay; 8 step grandchildren; 9 step great-grandchildren; a brother: Merle Erickson of Ottawa; his twin sister: Mercille Fellbaum of Fargo, ND, a sister: Arlue Ostrem of West Fargo, ND; and a stepdaughter-in-law: Margie Stechschulte of Ft. Jennings. He was also preceded in death by a son: Gary Erickson; a stepson: Arthur Stechschulte; a step great-grandchild; a brother: Harvey (Enita) Erickson; and 2 brothers-in-law: Marty Fellbaum and Ernie Ostrem.

Marshall was a retired electronic engineer from A. O. Smith, Milwaukee, MN. He was a 66 year member of the Internationl Brotherhood of Electircal Workers.  He attended Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. On January 21, 1954 he was awarded the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation as a member of the Army's Korean Communication Zone headquarters. Marshall was a member of the Ottawa American Legion and VFW.

A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Fr. Rick Friebel officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Kalida with military rites by the Ottawa American Legion, VFW and Am Vets. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home where there will be a VFW service at 7pm. Memorials may be made to Putnam County Home Care and Hospice or Sts. Peter and Paul Education Fund.
