Mary L. Lieb

LEIPSIC – Mary L. Lieb, 79, of Leipsic, died 10:37 a.m., Friday, March 3, 2017 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay.  She was born February 26, 1938 in Leipsic to the late Lowell and Florence (Windel) Brooks.  On August 3, 1958 she married Delbert Lieb.  He died February 28, 2005.

Survivors include two children: Marvin (Kelli) Lieb of Columbus and Rodney Lieb of Findlay; three grandchildren: Garrett Lieb, Josi Lieb and Alexys Lieb; and a brother, Philip (Barbara) Brooks of Fremont.

She was also preceded in death by a son: David Lieb.

Mary received a BS in Education from Ohio Northern University in 1964 and her Master's Degree in education and counseling from University of Dayton in 1990.  She retired in July of 1998 after 40 years of teaching at Leipsic Local Schools where she touched thousands of lives.  She was a lifelong member of Leipsic United Methodist Church and appointed to the Putnam County Library Board of Directors from 2006-2012.  In 1994, Mary was honored to be listed as "Who's Who Among America's Teachers" and in 2015, was inducted into the Leipsic Local Schools Academic Hall of Fame.  Mary enjoyed reading, gardening, crafts and attending lifelong learning classes.  She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic with Pastor Steve Weatherly officiating.  Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.  Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home as well as one hour prior to the service Tuesday.
