Mary C. Collier

CONTINENTAL – Mary C. Collier, 87, of Continental, passed away at 9:35 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2023, at the Meadows of Ottawa.  She was born April 13, 1935, in Lima to the late Cletus "Clete" and Florence (Nienberg) Homier.

Mary is survived by five children: Jeanie Tegenkamp of Continental, Jo (Roger) Niese of Glandorf, Jackie (Bob) Ellerbrock, Ginger (Phil) Williams and John (Stevie) Collier, all of Continental; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; seven siblings: Bill Homier, Ray (Sherry) Homier, Janet Sullivan, Judy Homier, Joyce (Steve) Baldwin, all of Continental, Danny (Deb) Homier of Cloverdale and Suzie Berger of Continental.

She is preceded in death by a grandson, Marcus Ellerbrock; a son-in-law, Frank Tegenkamp; a sister, Betty (Elmer) Schulte; a sister-in-law, Marlene Homier; and a brother-in-law, Dar Sullivan.

Mary was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Continental. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers.  Mary loved spending time with her family.

Funeral Mass will begin 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Continental with Fr. Nathan Bockrath officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Barbara's Cemetery, Cloverdale. Visitation will be from 9 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the mass on Tuesday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental.
