Mary Agnes L. Schnipke OTTAWA – Mary Agnes L. Schnipke, 81, of Ottawa, passed away at 11:42 a.m., Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was born July 7, 1943, in Leipsic to the late Marcellus and Mary (Webber) Schroeder. On June 29, 1963, she married Edward Schnipke, who survives in Ottawa. Other survivors include four children: Earl Schnipke of Ottawa, Diana (James) Hoffman of Delphos, Duane (Brandy) Schnipke of Rembert, SC and Elaine (Shawn) Thiel of Ormond Beach, FL; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two siblings: Norbert Schroeder of Deshler and Dorothy Schnipke of Ottawa; a sister-in-law, Sally Schroeder; and friend of the family, BobbyeAnn White. She was also preceded in death by two siblings: Rosie Schroeder and Robert Schroeder; a sister-in-law, Agnes Schroeder; and a brother-in-law, James Schnipke. Mary retired from Putnam Acres, Ottawa, where she cooked and worked in housekeeping. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf, its Altar Rosary Society, and Catholic Ladies of Columbia. Mary enjoyed line dancing, camping, socializing, bicycling, traveling, and wintering in Florida. She loved spending time with her family, especially playing cards and dice with her grandchildren. Funeral Mass will begin 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Matt Keller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
