Mary Margaret Maag

OTTAWA - Mary Margaret Maag, 83, of Ottawa died 12:24 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2018 at Mercy Health St. Rita's in Lima.  She was born February 8, 1935 in Lima to the late Sylvester and Clara (Schroeder) Lammers.  On January 8, 1955, she married Alphonse H. Maag.  He died April 15, 2016.

Survivors include three children: Rebecca (Rob) Strauer of Glandorf, Terry (Jill) Maag of Jefferson, GA and Jim (Lisa) Maag of Ottawa; twelve grandchildren: Melonie Heringhaus, Ryan Strauer, Andy Strauer, Sean Strauer, Megan Fought, Jodi Niese, Alison Walther, Wesley Maag, Jacob Maag, Kelsey Maag, Isaac Goldman and Gus Mauldin; eighteen great-grandchildren: Brennan Niese, Alexa Niese, Jenna Niese, Jackson Heringhaus, Maya Heringhaus, Emma Heringhaus, Blaize Heuerman, Kash Heuerman, Knox Strauer, Ellieana Strauer, Jessalynn Strauer, Malia Fought, Matthias Fought, Dominic Vorst, Bristol Vorst, Quinnly Strauer, Scarlett Walther and Lydia Walther; and two brothers: Harold Lammers of Lima and Joe (Alice) Lammers of New Cleveland.

She was also preceded in death by  four brothers: Johnny, Louis, Frank and Jim Lammers; and two sisters: Rita Rieman and Angie Moening.

Mary Margaret was a homemaker and a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa.  She loved to socialize with friends at Arby's and the gym.  Mary Margaret was an avid walker and loved yogurt from Tony's and watching the Cleveland Cavaliers.

A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 11:30 a.m., Monday, May 7, 2018 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with a scripture service at 7:50 p.m.
