Mary Lou Porter
OAKWOOD – Mary Lou Porter, 85, of Oakwood, died at 12:28 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012 at her residence. She was born October 2, 1926 in Montrose, Colorado to the late Nelson and Loretta (Scharf) Nissen. On December 7, 1943, she married Basil L. Porter who died May 19, 2009.
Mary Lou is survived by 2 sons: Steve (Phyllis) Porter and John (Michele) Porter, both of Paulding; 5 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 daughters; Karen and Sharon in infancy, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Mary Lou retired from Paulding County Hospital where she had worked as a receptionist.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Oakwood, with Rev. Terry Porter officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood. Burial will follow in Little Auglaize Cemetery, Melrose.
