GLANDORF - Mary C. Nartker, 93, of Glandorf died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Putnam Heritage, Ottawa. She was born December 8, 1920 in Miller City to the late Bernard and Elizabeth (Schroeder) Riepenhoff. On May 30, 1939 she married Arnold Nartker who died January 28, 1992.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Shirley Lemley of Dublin and Patricia (Fred) Wahr of Bay City, MI.; 2 grandchildren: Jennifer (Gustavo) Perezrios and Bradley (Anne) Wahr, both of Holly, MI; 5 great-grandchildren: Gustavo, Isabella and Daniel Perezrios, Samuel and Alexander Wahr; 2 step-grandchildren: L. Wayne Lemley of Columbus and Jayne (Mike) Kaylor of Upper Arlington; 8 step great-grandchildren; a brother: James (Jane) Riepenhoff of Miller City; 5 sisters: Clara Schroth and Ruth Smith both of Tiffin, Lucille Shields of Bowling Green, KY., Eleanor (Robert) Zwyer of Berkey, and Rita (Herman) Schmenk of New Cleveland; and 2 sisters-in-law: Norma Riepenhoff of Miller City and Esther Riepenhoff of Ottawa. She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Arlene Nartker; a sister: Norma Recker; a son-in-law: Lewis Lemley; a step-grandchild: James Lemley; and 2 brothers: Leonard and Clarence Riepenhoff.
Mary formerly worked at the canning factory in Ottawa, a fabric store in Bay City, MI and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and its Catholic Ladies of Columbia and Rosary Altar Society. She volunteered at Calvary Manor Nursing Home and loved to dance. Mary had the magic touch for making noodles and a green thumb for growing roses and passed her love for flowers to her daughters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. There will be a CLC and Altar Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Putnam Heritage, and Putnam County Hospice.
