Mary M. Scheckelhoff OTTAWA - Mary M. Scheckelhoff, 87, of Ottawa, passed away at 5:25 p.m., Monday, November 18, 2024 at The Meadows of Ottawa. She was born May 17, 1937, in Leipsic to the late Clarence  H. "Peanuts" and Elizabeth M. "Betty" (Meyer) Siebeneck.  On September 8, 1956, she married Herbert "Herb" Scheckelhoff, who preceded her in death on June 13, 2012. Mary is survived by four children: Dave (Kathy) Scheckelhoff of Ottawa, Dean (Barb) Scheckelhoff of Perrysburg, Glen (Carrie) Scheckelhoff of Columbus and Pam (Mike) Holdcroft of Galena; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother: Robert "Bob" (Sue) Siebeneck of Leipsic; two sisters-in-law: Marilyn Siebeneck and Carol Siebeneck; and brother-in-law, Steve Boewe of Texas. She was also preceded in death by a son, Nick Scheckelhoff; three brothers: Thomas Siebeneck, Daniel Siebeneck and Leon "George" Siebeneck; and a sister, Janet Boewe. Mary retired as a tax commissioner for the Village of Ottawa. She also formerly worked for Ottawa Home and Savings. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, its Altar Rosary Society and C. L. of C.  Mary enjoyed spending time with her family. Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. Memorial donations may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School or Putnam County Hospice.
