Mary Jane (Swicker) McClure

LIMA – Mary Jane (Swicker) McClure, 93, of Lima was called home to Jesus at 2:11 a.m., Friday, May 17, 2024 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  She was born September 12, 1930 in Dupont to the late Andrew and Mabel (Etter) Swicker.  In 1946, she married Donald Oliver McClure.

Survivors include four children: Jerry (Navette) McClure, Darlene (Robert) Sherard, Larry McClure and Nancy (Robert) Mitchell; 17 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 43 great great-grandchildren; and many friends who became family.

Mary was also preceded in death by her husband; four children: Charles McClure, Judy McClure, Jeffrey McClure and Jaunt "JD" McClure; and three great great-grandchildren.

She loved all of her family.  In her younger years, she enjoyed camping, playing cards with the girls, playing with the kids and babysitting numerous children.  Mary also enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzle books, TV shows with Chuck Norris, listening to country music and playing the WII.

Funeral service will begin at 3pm Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township with Pastor Rick Lamb officiating.  Burial will be at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, Dupont.  Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service Tuesday.
