Max E. Schoepfle
Ottawa – Max E. Schoepfle, 78, of Ottawa died 10:10 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012 at St. Rita's Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center, Glandorf. He was born July 20, 1934 in Bellefontaine to the late William H. and Margaret (Downing) Schoepfle. His mother survives in Bellefontaine and his father is deceased. On November 21, 1955, he married Ruth M. Salsburey. She survives in Ottawa.
Max is also survived by his children: Daniel (Jamie) Schoepfle of Ottawa, Paula Altstaetter of Lima and Darlene (Ken) Teders of Ottawa; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; a brother: Charles Schoepfle of Bellefontaine and a sister-in-law: Barb Schoepfle of Bellefontaine. He is preceded in death by a son: Frankie Schoepfle and a brother: William Schoepfle.
Max retired from Phillips in Ottawa as a mechanical maintenance man where he worked for 38 years. He was a member of Ottawa Missionary Church where he was a trustee. His favorite pastime was playing and performing music. He loved to do woodworking in his garage.
A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Ottawa Missionary Church with Rev. Marshall Metzger officiating. Burial will follow in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa and one hour prior to service at church on Thursday.
Memorials may be given to the Ottawa Missionary Church.
