Melba L. Hardy

LEIPSIC - Melba L. Hardy, 80, of Leipsic, died 7:20 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Oak Grove Health Care in Deshler.  She was born November 26, 1938 in Leipsic to the late Clarence and Blanch (Cheney) Fackler.  On January 28, 1956 she married Jimmie E. Hardy.  He died March 12, 2010.

Survivors include six children: Mike (Teresa) Hardy of Leipsic, Dennis Hardy, Sr. of Leipsic, Greg Hardy of FL, Marcia Smith of Leipsic, James Hardy of Leipsic and Doug (Virginia) Hardy of MD; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Sandra Carnahan of Ottawa and Rita (Paul) Dancer of Lima.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Michele Hardy; daughter-in-law, Irma Hardy; and a brother, Lee Fackler.

Melba was a homemaker and a member of Leipsic United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will begin 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 11, 2019 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Ruth Carter-Crist officiating.  Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.  Visitation will be from noon until the time of service Friday, at the funeral home.
