Michael Lynn Moran
CONTINENTAL – Michael Lynn Moran, lovingly known as “Dud”, 75, of Continental passed away on February 12, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born July 15, 1950, to the late Delbert and Norma (Huff) Moran. On February 20, 1971, he married Maureen “Jackie” Nardone, they were married for 54 years before she preceded him in death on February 8, 2024.
Mike is survived by two daughters: Heather Prowant of Continental and Angie (Gregg) Bowersox of Oakwood; and one son: Ben (Darla) Moran of Continental; eighteen grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren; siblings: Debbie (Don) Noffsinger, Terry (Kim) Moran; and sister-in-law Shellie Moran all of Continental.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Jim Moran.
Mike worked at GM Powertrain, Defiance, where he retired in 2020 after 51 years. He was also a volunteer fireman, having served 38 years with the Continental Volunteer Fire Department where he served as assistant chief for 8 years.
Mike had a passion for golf and was frequently found at Moose Landing Country Club. Mike also loved trap shooting, hunting and drinking beer with his friends at the Legion. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, his special friend, Donna, and his bulldog, Annie.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Putnam County Homecare and Hospice for the great and compassionate care that Mike received, and a special thank you to Tina.
Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental, with Pastor Jim Hiltner officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Continental. A visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday with a fire department service to begin at 6 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Continental Volunteer Fire Department.
