Michael L. Schimmoeller

KALIDA – Michael L. Schimmoeller, 70 of Kalida died 8:25 a.m. Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Autumn Court, Ottawa.

He was born May 1, 1951 in Lima to Alfred (Jack) and Lucille (Korte) Schimmoeller who preceded him in death.  On January 19, 1974, he married Elaine Riepenhoff who preceded him in death on April 17, 2013.

Michael worked at Philips Display Components, Ottawa and more recently for Busy Bee Cleaning, Ottawa.  He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida, and it's Holy Name Society.  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 2234, Ottawa and also Sons of the American Legion, Fort Jennings.  He was a former soccer referee.

Survivors include a son, Andrew (Denise) Schimmoeller of South Lyon, Michigan; a daughter, Julie (Eddie) Stanish of Monclova; two grandchildren, John "Jack" Schimmoeller and Grace Schimmoeller; two brothers, Dennis (Jan) Schimmoeller of Delphos and Carl Schimmoeller of Ottoville; a brother-in-law, Steve Humes of Lima; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Carmen Humes.

Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
