Michael A. Verhoff
KALIDA – Michael A. Verhoff, 54, of Kalida died 8:26 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee.
He was born June 5, 1957 in Lima to the late Arnold and Mary (Sehlhorst) Verhoff.  On November 19, 1983, he married Dorothy "Dot" Niese, who survives in Kalida.
Also surviving is a daughter: Ashley Verhoff of Ann Arbor, MI; a son: Alan Verhoff of Kalida; three sisters: Susan (Don) Duling of Glandorf, Julie Recker of Kalida, and Joan (Stacy) Verhoff Slicker of Toledo; and two brothers: Richard Verhoff and Douglas (Barb) Verhoff, both of Kalida.
He was also preceded in death by his stepmother: Cecelia Verhoff.
Michael worked at General Motors, Defiance for 35 years.  He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida and its Holy Name Society and Kalida Knights of Columbus.  He was a former member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, Cuba.  He loved dancing with his wife to Barry White; followed the OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns; enjoyed playing cards, especially "Solo", and riding his motorcycle with his wife and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying and Fr. Mel Verhoff officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Isidore Cemetery, Cuba.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township (on the corner of St. Rts. 224 & 634) where a K of C Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, American Heart Association, or American Cancer Society.
