MILLER CITY – Michelle A. Steen, 52, of Miller City, died at 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Blanchard Valley Medical Center, Findlay. She was born January 26, 1971, in Lima to John and Phyllis (Schnipke) Niese. Her father preceded her in death and her mother survives in Leipsic. On June 28, 1997, she married John Steen, who preceded her in death on July 26, 2020.
Other survivors include three children: Cody (Brittany) Steen of McComb, Zachary Hinshaw of Vandalia and Mercedes Steen of McComb; nine grandchildren; and four siblings: Dawn (John) Fields of Obetz, Lori Niese of Dublin, Victor Niese of Leipsic and Jason (Amy) Niese of Findlay.
Michelle formerly worked at Walmart, Ottawa and was an artist. She was veteran of the U.S. Army and served during Desert Storm. She enjoyed making jewelry, beading, crocheting, painting, glass blowing, gardening and dolphins. Michelle was a great cook and loved spending time with her family.
Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. Randy Giesige officiating, with Military rites by the Leipsic American Legion. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic, and one hour prior to services on Monday at St Mary's Catholic Church Parish Life Center.
