Mildred N. Sarka

KALIDA - Mildred N. Sarka, 90, of Kalida died at 11:30 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2016 at The Meadows of Kalida. She was born August 1, 1926 in Kalida to the late Henry and Laura (Brinkman) Grote. On June 16, 1948 she married Earl H. Sarka who died May 7, 1998.

She is survived by a son: David E. Sarka of Kalida; a grandson: Marino Sarka of Kalida; two sisters: Hilda Ralich of Salem and Sr. Julie Grote of Tiffin; two brothers-in-law: Virgil Gerdeman of Ft. Jennings and Alfred (Shirley) Sarka of Continental;  and two sisters-in-law: Marie Grote and Inez Sarka both of Kalida. She was also preceded in death by a son: Daniel Sarka; a sister: Mary L. Gerdeman; and six brothers: Richard, Norbert, Victor, Edwin, Raymond, and Robert Grote.

Mildred was a homemaker and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m.  Saturday, October 22, 2016 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying and Fr. Elmer Wurth concelebrating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. on Saturday until the time of departure for mass at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township. Memorials may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church or to The Meadows of Kalida for activities.
