Mildred C. Metzger

FORT JENNINGS - Mildred C. Metzger, 92, of Fort Jennings died at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice. She was born November 20, 1924 in Delphos to the late Albert F. and Louise (Ziegenfelder) Schneider. On June 12, 1945 she married Carl Metzger who died May 18, 2009.

She is survived by ten children, Charlotte (Larry) Streets of Ft. Jennings, John Metzger of Payson, AZ, Tom (Sandra) Metzger of Placerville, CA, JoAnn (Ken) Hoersten of Fremont, MI, Barb (Jack) Didier of Ft. Wayne, IN, Steve (Terri) Metzger of Ottoville, Bob (Marilyn) Metzger of Ft. Jennings, Rick (Jane) Metzger of Ft. Jennings, Sue (Ron) Bellman of Ottawa, and Julia (Craig) Neidert of Ft. Jennings; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joan Rosendale of Delphos. Mildred was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Mikey Metzger and Robbie LaCount and seven sisters.

Mildred was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings with Fr. Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township and one hour prior to the mass on Saturday at the church. There will be a scripture service at 1:45 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
