Nicholas G. Lomeli, Sr.
BELMORE – Nicholas G. Lomeli, Sr., 57, of Belmore, passed away at 12:45 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born on August 31, 1967, in Lima to John B. and Carol (Smith) Lomeli. His father survives in Phoenix, AZ and his mother preceded him in death. On December 21, 1990, he married the love of his life, Rosa Cruz. She survives in Belmore.
Also surviving are two children: Jennifer (Jeremy) Schmidt of Evansport and Nicholas Jr. (fiancé Sierra Snyder) Lomeli of Kalida; four grandchildren: Ethan, Emma, Amelia and Nicholas III; a sister, Connie (Jeff) Dirmeyer of Harrod; and two brothers: John Lomeli and Marcos Campos, both of Phoenix, AZ.
In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Gabrielle Mae Ballatin.
Nicholas was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the DAV. He was an excellent grandpa to his grandchildren, whom he loved immensely. He enjoyed cooking and was an avid fan of THE Ohio State Buckeyes. Nicholas was most definitely a Vato Loco and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Per his request, Nicholas will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held on July 19, 2025 from 2 to 10 p.m. at the Leipsic Eagles. Dinner will be served from 2 to 4:30 p.m. and the family asks that you please bring your own refreshments. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.
