Nina M. Sommer

OTTAWA – Nina M. Sommer, 74, of Ottawa, died at 11:26 a.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the Meadows of Ottawa.  She was born November 11, 1946 in Lima to the late Raymond and Emma (Kottenbrock) Sommer.

Nina is survived by four children: Pam Schulte, Jay (Kim Evans) Utrup, both of Ottawa, Kurt (Kathy) Utrup of Glandorf and Nick (Jill) Utrup of Burnsville, MN; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters: Vera (Frank) Alt of Tempe, AZ, and Ruth (Dave) Lammers of The Villages, FL.

She is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kristen Utrup; and a son-in-law: Jeff Schulte.

Nina was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf.  She enjoyed canning and cooking. Nina loved spending time with her family, and watching her grandchildren grow.  She also enjoyed vacationing.

Funeral mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Father Steve Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.  In keeping with the social distancing guidelines, a visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass at the church.  Masks will be required upon entering the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
