Noma Lawhorn
CLOVERDALE – Noma Lawhorn, 91, of Cloverdale, died at 10:23 a.m. on February 17, 2026, at The Gardens of Paulding. She was born April 3, 1934, in Olive Hill, KY to the late William Ernest and Lula (Dean) Gilbert. On May 24, 1950, she married James C. Lawhorn, who preceded her in death on July 21, 2001.
She is survived by four sons: James E. (Lisa) Lawhorn of Lakeview, Roger (Cathy) Lawhorn of Cloverdale, Charles “Kirk” (Amy) Lawhorn of Continental and Tim (Leslie) Lawhorn of Defiance; twenty grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; two siblings: Gerline Mays of Dupont and Homer Gilbert of Defiance; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by three sons: Jerry Lawhorn, Martin “Rick” Lawhorn and William “John” Lawhorn; a daughter-in-law, Ivy Lawhorn; three grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and ten siblings: Evelyn Sparks, Onia Gehring, Elwood Gilbert, Elmo Gilbert, Delmar Gilbert, Richard Gilbert, Vernon Gilbert, Woodrow Gilbert, Ernest Gilbert, Jr., Elmer Gilbert.
Noma formerly worked for the Delphos New Manufacturing Company, Cloverdale General Store and Uncle Fudd’s. She loved gardening, flowers, and cooking, especially sausage gravy and biscuits, which was her favorite meal to cook.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 23, 2026, at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township with Pastor Jim Hiltner officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Dupont. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
