OTTAWA - Norma Ellerbrock, 94, of Ottawa, died 4:05 a.m. Thursday, December 9, 2021 at her residence. She was born November 18, 1927 in Continental to the late Bernard and Mary (Bockrath) Vennekotter. On August 14, 1947, she married Thomas Ellerbrock, he preceded her in death on January 26, 2010.
Survivors include four children: Nancy (Dennis) Rosengarten, Debra (Kenneth) Knueven, Suellen (Michael) Stechschulte, Brian (Diana) Ellerbrock all of Glandorf; 9 grandchildren: Matthew Rosengarten, Jillian (Jason) VanDam, Jennifer (Ryan) Smith, Eric (Angie) Knueven, Kurtis Knueven, Kristin (Regan) Trehas, Brad (Synthesia) Stechschulte, Lee (Christine) Ellerbrock, Elizabeth Ellerbrock; and 10 great-grandchildren: Jacqueline VanDam, Abigail VanDam, Issac Smith, Blake Smith, Troy Knueven, Eli Knueven, Kennedy Knueven, Tyler Ellerbrock, Owen Ellerbrock and Henry Ellerbrock.
She was also preceded in death by two sons: Richard Ellerbrock and Steven Ellerbrock; and six siblings: Otto Vennekotter, Oscar Vennekotter, Norbert Vennekotter, Bertha Schnipke, Laura Recker and Florence Verhoff.
Norma was a homemaker and helped work and manage the family farm. She graduated from Miller City High School. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and its Altar Rosary Society, Catholic Ladies of Columbia and a social member of the Ottawa VFW.
Funeral mass will be held 9:00 a.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Father Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. Due to the continued increase in COVID cases, we are asking people to wear masks at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
Memorial donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Church, Glandorf or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
