Norman D. Etter
OTTAWA - Norman Dean Etter, 73, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 18, after a short illness. He was born December 1, 1949, to the late Orley "Tim" Etter, Jr., and Jeanette (Erhart) Etter.
He is survived by a sister, Shari (Bob) Schumaker, Ottawa; a brother, Randy (Pat) Etter, Columbus; four nephews, Brad (fiancée Trish Nienberg) Schumaker, Ottawa; Todd (Jamie Quadrozzi) Schumaker, Rockville, MD; Ryan (Ashley Griffis) Etter, Lewis Center; and Christopher Etter, Columbus; five great-nephews; one great-niece; and a cousin Shelly (Jeff) Kosch, Dupont.
Norm was preceded in death by a niece, Angie Kaufman Schumaker.
Norm was a 1968 graduate of Kalida High School and worked for many years at Phillips ECG in Ottawa, until his retirement in 2002. A longtime resident of Ottawa, Norm was a gentle soul who was a faithful member of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish. He was an avid fan of early rock n roll and had a massive record collection. He loved to talk about music with his family and he will be fondly remembered for his vast knowledge of many obscure facts.
The family wishes to thank Bridge Hospice for their care for Norm during his final days.
Friends are invited to attend visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 21, at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. Immediately following is a Mass of Christian burial at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, which will begin at 10:00 a.m., with Father Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
