Opal Ruth Korte
Kalida - Opal Ruth Korte, 82, formerly of Kalida died 8:48 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2014 at Van Crest of Van Wert.  She was born May 25, 1932 in Cloverdale to the late Ray and Flossie (Shirey) Miller. On May 25, 1952, she married George Eldon Morris who died January 10, 2009.  She married Norbert J. Korte on August 19, 1978 who died May 22, 2010.
Opal is survived by her 5 children: Jeff (Kathy) Morris of Wapakoneta, Philip (Linda) Morris of Houston, TX., Barbara (Tim) Pendergast of Van Wert, Dwight (Ellen) Morris of Fremont and Doug (Mindy) Morris of Gibsonburg; 4 step-children: Donna (Robert) Prowant of Ottawa, Linda (Mark) Maag of Columbus Grove, Diane Korte of Waukegan, IL., and Roger Korte of Mandale; a sister: Jessie Morris of Pandora; a brother: Johnnie (Carrie) Miller of Pandora; a step-son-in-law: John Simco of Fremont; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death a daughter: Debbie Morris Newell; 3 sisters: Velma Miller, Jean Miller, Fae Thomas and a brother, Clarence Miller.
She loved to embroider, crochet and do puzzle books. Opal also babysat for lots of area children.
A funeral service will begin 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa, with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating.   Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Kalida.  Visitation will begin Monday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the charity of donor's choice.
