Orvel H. Schroeder
GLANDORF - Orvel H. Schroeder, 85, of Glandorf died at 9:07 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at The Meadows of Ottawa. He was born October 10, 1929 in Glandorf to the late Lawrence and Amanda (Moening) Schroeder. On October 1, 1983 he married Joyce Marchione who survives in Glandorf.
He is also survived by a son: Brad (Ann) Schroeder of Glandorf; 2 grandchildren: Casey S. Schroeder of Conway, SC and Alexandra B. Schroeder of Glandorf; and 2 sisters: June (Alan) Jeffery of Fairfield and Juanita Blankemeyer of Ottawa.  He was also preceded in death by a son: Scott D. Schroeder; 2 brothers: Tim and Greg Schroeder; and 2 sisters: Irma Huber and Naomi Schroeder.
Orvel was a customer service manager for GTE Sylvania formerly of Ottawa. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Ottawa Eagles and Country Acres Golf Club. Orvel enjoyed playing golf, playing cards at the Eagles and wintering in Sebring, FL.
A Funeral Service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2015 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Fr. Rick Friebel officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Glandorf. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Putnam County Hospice.
